Therapeutic Massage
This type of treatment typically targets a specific area of injury, pain or discomfort. To provide relief and increase mobility, your therapist may employ a few different techniques to achieve the desired results, including myofascial release, trigger point and deep tissue massage.
Relaxation (Swedish) Massage
A full-body massage, this therapy calms the mind and relaxes the nervous system. Pain-free flowing strokes and kneading help to loosen tight muscles, encourage blood flow and stimulate the lymphatics to boost the immune system.
Myofascial Release
Myofascial tissues are the tough connective membranes that wrap and support muscles. Myofascial release helps relieve pain that occurs when those tissues are stiff and “stuck.” Your therapist will find the problem areas, apply pressure, stretch and massage the fascia to restore movement and help alleviate pain.
Visceral Manipulation
This treatment deals with the mobility of the internal organs (viscera) and the surrounding connective tissue. Manipulation includes some subtle techniques and patient positioning to engage the organs to release holding patterns and address any visceral restrictions.
Breast, Chest, Oncology Massage
Therapeutic Breast, Chest and Oncology Massage
Therapeutic breast massage can be used for menstrual cycle breast tenderness, pregnancy and breast feeding, detoxification of the lymphatic system and preventative care.
Pre- and post-op massage can be helpful with accepting, integrating and healing from surgery, be it for breast cancer, elective procedures, or gender-affirming surgery. Massage therapy may be indicated to manage tough scar tissue, movement restrictions, numbness and other associated discomforts. Learn more
Craniosacral Therapy
(Cranio-Fascial Mobilization)
Focussed on the cranial bones and membranes, spine and sacrum, this therapy involves subtle palpations to address the structures’ mobility and motility, thereby correcting associated traumas that affect other areas of the body (e.g., chronic pain patterns, migraines, sinus conditions, tinnitus, dizziness, whiplash).
Fascial Release Therapy
This therapy uses the tissues’ mechanical properties to create release of restrictions in the body and allow greater ease of movement. Unlike other treatments, this therapy doesn’t use oils or lotions and often has the client active in the treatment process through various positions.
Trigger Point Therapy
Calm hyper-irritated nodules in tight muscles that have resulted in referred, radiating pain through trigger point therapy. By applying appropriate and sustained pressure, knots are released, and the muscles and nervous system can relax.
Muscle Energy
Technique (MET)
This manual therapy uses a muscle’s own energy, through gentle contractions, to relax and lengthen muscles and mobilize joints with limited or restricted motion.
Joint Mobilization
Stiff, sore and locked joints will benefit from this targeted treatment. Through gentle and specific manipulation, resistance work and stretching movements, joints are returned to a fuller, less painful range of motion.
Pregnancy Massage
With the use of the Body Cushion™, pregnant clients can lie face down on the massage table throughout the trimesters. This massage helps with common issues, such as low back pain, pubic symphysis syndrome, sciatic pain and edema, and also promotes better sleep and stress reduction while helping to prepare women for labour and birth.
Postnatal Massage
A full-body massage, this treatment works to reduce stress and swelling while increasing blood flow to help your body heal and recover. Mothers who birthed naturally without complications can book a massage as soon as they are comfortable.
Post-Caesarean Massage
Not to occur until at least six to eight weeks after surgery, when the incision is healed, this massage may help with healing scar tissue, relaxing compensating areas, reducing inflammation and increasing circulation to the area.
Bio-Dynamic Fascial Integration
A treatment using a combination of Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, Visceral Manipulation and other osteopathic techniques.
Choose this treatment if you are looking to resolve chronic issues such as whiplash injuries, Headaches, unrelenting Neck or Back pain. Also effective for chronic stress, digestive and bladder issues, womens health and much more.
Sports Massage
For athletes of all levels, repetitive motions can result in problem areas and muscle imbalances. A sports massage can help with quicker recovery, prevention of injuries and improved movement and flexibility.
